Hey all, I have an audio question with the HVX200A. The camera features a way for 4 channels to record audio directly into the camera in P2 HD Mode.

What we are looking to do is record 2 input XLR channels, and then have the internal mic to serve as the 3rd & 4th channel. Is there a way to control the internal mic at all?

Is there a way to possibly record audio via the RCA audio inputs, and then connect 2 audio inputs through the xlr? Would there be a way to control all the audio inputs?

We normally shoot with an on field mixer with 3 channels of audio, and are looking to get rid of the mixer and save our editor more time by going directly into the camera. Any information or ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Check out page 53 in the user manual.

If you do not have one, there is hope.

Yeah I tried checking that out, but it doesn’t really answer my question whether I could do this or not. I need three seperate audio channels so I can have control over all of them…
