we recorded from panasonic HVX200 a 1080i 25P signal. We have been told by panasonic this is progressive footage, however to import in avid you need to have an interlace project. How do we output progressive footage out of avid from this interlace project? Is the footage actually progressive or interlaced? Do we just output as normal and the footage will come out progressive?

    Regards

    Sam

It is 25p in a 50i compatible stream. There is a section of the HVX200 manual that explains how this works.

Search in this forum for information on PSF. (or PsF as it should be called)

The 1080 format is a progressive segmented frame for all in-camera recordings. Currently only the Stwo, Sony SRW and Panasonic D5 can capture true progressive frames in 1080.

    your avid is correct.
