i have fcp 5.1.1 and i just loaded a 48fps varicam clip at a capture setting of 720p60 via firewire from the 1200a deck and when i highlight the clip in the browser then select the hd converter from my tools menu, nothing happens. do i have a dead plugin? i downloaded the plugin from the panasonic website.

    thanks,
    c

Try putting it in a bin, then doing the conversion. And it that doesn’t work, try opening another project and copying it to that, and then doing the conversion.

Also, review this tutorial to be sure you are doing things properly:

shane, you rock. i actually had it in a bin, but i had option clicked the bin to open it as a tab. when i opened the bin by clicking it’s little arrow to reveal it’s contents and then used the frame rate converter, it worked.

    thanks,
    c

Use the frame rate converter that came with fcp 5.1 install disks and only that plug in.

Also, your clips should not be in a bin, but in the root level of the browser. I have no idea why that is, but unfortunately that’s how it is.
