Panasonic BTLH1700W 17 “hot spot”

[Jeremy Garchow] “If it’s only when you are sending black to the monitor, then this is proabbly normal. The monitor looks almost very dark purple when you send nothing but black, right? Does it look like the flouescent tubes showing through?”
When I send black to my 1700 it is completely black… no purple and no hot spot…
