Did they announce the official price?

I one spec I have seen batted around by Barry is 1080@60p, but that is not how it is listed on Panasonic’s site, it has 59.94i, does anyone know if it is 60p but recorded as segmented frames. That would be amazing if gives you a true progressive image at 60p for some amazing slomo.

I don’t believe worldwide pricing has been announced yet.

One of their press releases says “tentative RRP of 4,900 euro. Excl. VAT”:

    Barry addresses similar questions here:

Note that list prices for each region are affected by many factors so you shouldn’t do a simple currency conversion to your own local currency. I suspect we’ll hear final list pricing for the US & other countries before the cam ships by the end of this year.

    Hmm:

I already have Batteries for my HVX200 , was hoping they would work. sucks. but it seems the batteries used by the HMC150 are just shorter.

Gives the same 7.2V but at 2500mAh as opposed to 5400mAh for the HVX battery but i seems the battery connections are the same. which means i can use the same charger to charge the battery. there fore i wont have to buy alot of these batteries as i can use my other batteries to power my Ikan vx9 which has a Panasonic mount and even if they die i can use one of the new batteries.
    Correct me if im wrong.

Cool so im forgetting about that DSLR thing and getting one of these

One Question about the Ki Pro Mini.

Im sure you will get the KI Mini to timecode sync with the camera you are using in addition to video and embedded audio, but what about recording trigger. Will that be done via SDI/HDMI as well or will there be a different way to do it or will i have to press record on the Ki Pro box ?

Here’s another video walk-through demo of the AF100 prototype (in German). Includes some close-ups of dials, switches, menus on the LCD, etc.:

Concerning the quality of the AF100-shot video shown towards the end of the demo, please remember that this camera is an engineering prototype, according to Panasonic only “70%” complete. See:

    Peter
You are a wealth of information, you should actually start your own Website and make yourself some money reporting on industry matters seems you love it.

I expect this camera to be in the 6k USD range, just like Jan said at NAB. So my toss up would be an AF-100 + ki pro mini (8k) or a RED SCarlet (lord knows the price or release date) plus extra modules for it.

I do not consider the AF100 a replacement for my HVX200 as the AF would never be used for ENG or simple shoots like that.
i dismantle my HVX from the letus from time to time to do simple stuff or even green screen to get sharper images. This is as strange a dynamic for me as the DSLR’s , i like em but i will never buy it because a bigger better version will come along soon.

Case in point Af100. RED is a more robust platform right now, RAW images less compression cinematic feel its all there.
but i want prores, dont wanna render down anything so it will work in FCP, or do i switch to PPro, ki pro mini will do.

Arguments for and against are welcome

    Thanks, Nigel.

Just in the interest of full disclosure: I’m a satisfied end-user Panasonic GH1 owner, and I bought my GH1 retail. I’m also a user of the free PTool3 (“GH1 firmware hack”) software. I’ve not been compensated in any way by manufacturers of these products to use or discuss any of these products. (And if I was I’d proudly say so.)

Believe me, when Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc. also announce or ship compelling products that push my buttons (in a good way), I’ll happily discuss them, too. I ain’t no Panasonic fan boy. 🙂

    Good shooting everyone!
