    Hi there,

I’m trying to accomplish a fairly simple effect, but I’m having great trouble.

I’m trying to pan a tall image vertically behind a mask. The problem is the position of the mask animated along with the image. When i use the pan behind tool, it appears as though it is working, however, when i playback, the mask moves with the image.

How can i make the mask stay put, while the image pans behind it.

    Thanks!
    Ari

Duplicate the layer once you’re happy with the movement, remove the mask from the original layer and select the duplicate as “Alpha Matte” in the blend modes.
