Pal to Ntsc transfer (dv to dvd)
I’ve recently completed a 2.5hour project for a client. Was captured and cut at Pal DV and then made into a dvd via compressor.
Now client has come back saying they now need an ntsc dvd. Now for a normal job that wasn’t as long or was on digi (or other tape media) i’d just recapture into fcp as ntsc as i do have a standards converter and ntsc black bust generator. But this particular project was a multicam shoot and as i said previously it’s running at just over 2.5hours. and i’d rather not recapture through the standards converter from a dvd source.
Right so it’s in FCP as Pal DV, so i’m looking for the best possible way (and quickest/cheapest) way of converting to NTSC. But also handles the framerate change the best. this is my major concern has there is alot of movement in the footage as it is people dancing…
1. Paste pal timeline into a new NTSC time and export to compressor?
2. Export pal project to compressor ntsc mpeg setting?
3. use Natress standards conversion..?Cheers in advance..
