I recently sent a Pal SP Betacam dub for one of my clients to San Fransico. The production house there contacted my client direct here is Australia and said it would cost $US1,000 to get the fifty minutes of footage converted to a digital betacam NTSC version. This seems outragous to me as I can get it done in Australia for a fraction of that cost. Can someone suggest to me a place in San Fransico where I can get the conversion done and roughly what you think the cost should be.

I use Dubs Express in SF. They do a really great job and Bart their engineer
really pays attention to details. Pal to Ntsc should cost at least a third less than
quoted. You can check their website for exact prices.
