  • Pal Project Exported to NTSC missing final 2 seconds of footage

I am editing a 45 second commercial imported into FCP using DVPAL Easy Setup. When I export this project from the timeline using DV NTSC out, the project falls out of sync. When I export the project as a DV PAL quicktime it plays perfectly in a PAL timeline. I then reexport it from this new timeline using DV NTSC settings making the movie self contained. I then drag it back into an NTSC timeline and it plays back in sync, but the last 2 seconds of the commercial are missing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

I don’t have any answers but this kinda reminds me of linear tape transfers. When going to pal from ntsc you need a longer tape. A 1 hour program required a 1’5″ tape for the conversion. Can you add some black to the end and trim it in ntsc land?
