PAL DVD; only lower field first option
Good Afternoon All,
Working on a DVD for the first time in a while and I’m trying to create a PAL DVD which I believe should be upper field first?
Encore only offers an option for lower field first.
When burning the DVD there are interlacing artifacts. They could be to do with the original interpretation.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to the source project right now. Only an MPEG-2 which is lower field first.
I should do as of tomorrow.I’m naturally concerned that encore only seems to offer lower field first and this could be the root of the problem.
Your help and thoughts are much appreciated!

Hi David,
I understand you have no access to the source video/project right now, but I believe that when you export from Premiere to “MPEG-2 DVD”, if you choose Upper Field at that point and encode UFF, then Import that into Encore, Encore will not transcode and will keep the UFF setting.
Not sure about setting up Encore to manually transcode source you have now.
