    Hi All,
I recently had 2 PAL projects in my FCP suite. I had several NTSC jobs that I’d been working on over the last several months still loaded. The PAL jobs were very recent and were still in the system. I started to have a lot of MAC freeze ups while working on NTSC jobs. Almost constant freezes that got worse day to day. It happened while I was editing, while I was loading and while I was exporting mpegs and exporting from Compressor.
    Made me CRAZY!
So after a week of hell and running disk doc way to many times I decided to remove all the PAL jobs I had. THIS SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
Has anyone else come across this issue?

The only reason I can think of for this happening is you have the NTSC jobs referring to the PAL media which can cause issues.

We have PAL and NTSC projects on our systems at the same time and have never seen anything like this.

[Matt Press] “Maybe some clips had the same names?? “

Yep, that would definitely do it. Don’t know how many folks I’ve met who just have hundreds of “Untitled 1” and so forth on their systems.

Walter, I think you could change that to “Don’t know how many hundreds of folks…” I see this all the time.

One wish for FCP…before you can capture any media, you must save the project. Then when you do capture without naming first, it would at least give it the project name.
