    I think I’m on the verge of a “doh” moment.

    How can I apply a page peel transition to a graphic w/alpha without “peeling up” the layer below. (This particular transition is just above a key wall background.)

    Upgrade the Matte Key effect to 3D, then at the top you’ll get a Shape parameter already set to Page Fold. Just enable it.
