I’m revising a client project from 06 that was shot on p2. I used p2 log to create the xml and associated quicktimes for import. The xmls were later moved into a different folder for archiving the project. In reopening the project clips need relinking. I can search for and located the clip in the reconnect dialog box, but once selected, it doesn’t show up in the lower box of clips to connect. If I reimport the xml I get black blank clips or an xml failed to import due to critical error warning. *!@# %! In the finder my xml is associated with the color app. which I don’t think was around when this project was created. I’m out of ideas, am I S.O.L.?

Funny you should bring this up, as I had JUST discovered how to use P2 Log (well, HD LOG) to do this.

Did you export Reference QTs or fully blown QTs? Just curious…either way you should be able to hit the LOCATE button and manually navigate to the folder where you copied all of these files, then the one you want to relink to will be the only one not greyed out. Or you can tell FCP to limit the search to a location and choose that drive.

And the XML is defaulted to Color for some reason, but it still is an FCP XML.
