    Hi there,

SO the camera man that I worked with did not import the footage from the p2 cards like in the tutorial by Shane Ross. He just dumped them altogether into one folder for the whole project.

They are all QT movies and I am having a hard time figuring out how to import them into FCP through the log and transfer window. It says that they are not recognizable files. Is it because he did not include the lastclip.txt file?

I’d go ahead and get an MXF translator otherwise you’ll have major issues with FCP’s log and transfer. That’s Raylight or MXF4QT.

[Patricia Stitson] “They are all QT movies and I am having a hard time figuring out how to import them into FCP through the log and transfer window.”

If they are already Quicktime movies, you simply drag them in to the project.

Did that person include an FCP project with the footage?

Like Jeremy says, if they are QT movies it sounds like he already captured the clips and they are ready to be brought into the FCP project. You would not use the Log & Transfer feature for this. Of equal concern… Where are the master files? I would be sure to get those from him as well.

If he has given you the master files and simply ommited the lastclip.txt file then you need to do as Noah suggests and use Raylight to convert them.

Log and transfer works without the lastclip.txt.
