With 16mb cards already available and 32mb around the corner, is there any chance the P2 guys are going to go 1080p on the HVX? Right now the 720p is where the HVX-200 is at its best with all those frame rates/shutter speed options, but will the same also be true for a 1080p function someday?

The HVX200 already does 1080p. But no there’s not likely going to be variable frame rates in 1080p, the DVCPRO-HD 1080 codec doesn’t really provide for that.
Unless you go with Hydra, which will let you get variable frame rates in 1080p, but that’s not using P2, that’s a direct cable connection to a computer.
