I just bought a new MacBook Pro and I need to know if anyone makes an adapter to mount P2 card into the smaller expression slot. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Duel Adapter has one, they just release a beta driver for OS 10.4.9 and I tested it out and it worked. It was a little faster than 1 GB per minute transfer to a FW400. Hopefully it would be twice as fast to a FW800 drive.

My main grip is the cable is so thick and short it is tough get a good placement in cramped spaces but they doesn’t hurt usage.

I’ve heard on this forum there are a lot of problems with the dual adapter on the Mac. There are issues with having to re-boot and the cards don’t mount on your desktop.

    Have theres issues been resolved?

Are there pro’s out there happy with this adapter?

I have the Duel Adaptor and so far it’s working well on my MBP running 10.4.8. I have off-loaded 16 GB P2 cards in a little over 8 minutes using P2 Genie and HD Log.

the driver for 10.4.9 is a beta but is working fine for me. one of the notes is that if you eject the adapter (not just the card) you need to reboot. I have not found that to be so. The speed is much better than connecting the camera or a P2Store.

you may have to deal with a work around if you are on 10.4.9 but i think this a the best solution for in the field at this time.
