    Hi

I’m going to be shooting a short film shortly on an HVX200. I’d like to shoot at 2080i 25p but the director, who wants to edit his own film, has a low-spec Mac and a version of FCP which doesn’t support P2 formats. Is it possible then, for me to downconvert the footage to DV for him and then do an online of his edit on my machine? I believe you can dub high def footage to DV in camera to tape. Would this be the way to go? Are there any other options, or should I forget the whole crazy idea?

I’d be very grateful for any advice!

    Thanks

    Harry

Use the Media Manager to copy the footage at DV resolution. Should keep everything intact. Then he can edit and when you get the project, it should reconnect fine to the full res footage.

    Should…haven’t done it.
