    Hi all!

This past weekend, I did a 3 camera shoot of a 90 min play with the HVX and FS-100. The footage was shot at 720p 24fps, and saved to the Firesotres as 720p 60fps.

I know I just need to remove the pulldown from the files, but the only way I can see to doing it is a bit klumsy by bringing all the small .mxf clips into FCP, saving each camera out as a single 90 min QT file, removing the pulldown in Cinema tools and then re-importing into FCP.

Is there a way of removing the pulldown on p2 media without having to create a bunch more space hogging files?

    thx!

That’s a Ben Balser question but afaik there’s not a way the Firestore itself can remove pulldown.

Raylight/Mac can remove the 3:2 pulldown and create a quicktime link file in one step. Only takes a second.

Also the new software version4 of the FS100 can in fact record true 24P

Camera is setup as 24P (NOT 24pN)
The Fs100 is the set up in P2 PN (or Quicktime PN) and it does the pull down removal on record. You get over 4 hours of record time of 720P@24P, comes right in to FCP as 23.98.

    heya,

thanks to you guys who got back to me so quick. I realized that the newer version of FCP has a checkbox to remove pulldown on import, so that’s my solution for this job. Next week, I’ll be updating my firestore to the latest software and saving everything as native QT from now on.

    cheers!
