October 12, 2006 at 1:59 amFinally! I actually glad someone else is experiencing this, so Apple can work on a fix, I was beginning to think I was alone. I do, however, have a bunch of clips under 30sec that have the problem, so I don’t think duration is problem if it is that wide-spread.
Thanks!

October 13, 2006 at 10:17 amI’ve had this problem as well – and yes, it started once I upgraded to FCP 5.1.2. Basically, I keep importing the clip- it normally takes about 5 attempts and it conforms to 23.98 fps.

October 13, 2006 at 10:24 amTry this – in the P2 import widow – select the problem clip in the list. It will show up in the P2 viewer to the right. Now enter a scene name in the logging section. Then select “Add Clip to Queue.”
Just tried it – it worked fine. But I only did this once . . .

October 16, 2006 at 7:54 pmWe are having the same issue except it does not matter what the length is as we have 7 second clips and 9 second clips that import fine. We are however having what looks like field/interlace issues on our SD monitor when viewing these 480i30p clips.
Anyone\? -

October 16, 2006 at 8:26 pm480i30p DVCPRO50 seems to be the culprit as we just concluded testing with DVCPRO25 and no issues.
Anyone? -

October 16, 2006 at 9:38 pmHi everyone,
Would you all that are having the problem identify which version of Quicktime you have loaded?
Thanks,
Jan
