It’s in the Frame Control tab under deinterlace. It’s not a format.

i should add you have to make your own preset for it.

You can duplicate the 1080i60 setting for DVCPro HD, then change the frame rate to 23.976 in the encoder tab (click the Setting button and make sure the Compression type is DVCPro HD 1080i60 and the frame rate is 23.976 *not 23.98). Set the audio to pass through.

Then go to the frame controls tab turn it to ‘On’ then set the deinterlace to “reverse telecine”.

Then in the geometry tab set the frame size to 100% of source.

That should do it. You can mark and in and an out in compressor and test a few seconds before going hog wild on your footage. No cropping, no padding. At the end, you should have a 1280x1080psf23.98 DVCPro HD clip.

I’m having the exact same problems… trying Compressor to try and fix it, but to no avail.

Where exactly in Compressor settings do I change the field dominance from Progressive to Upper? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find the option.
