  P2 Footage out of Sync

  Hello Cows,

  Been reading through the forums about P2 footage appearing to be out of sync once imported into FCP. I’m shooting DVCPRO50 at 23.98 fps.

  I’ve read that the best solution is to uncheck the “Remove Advanced Pulldown and Dup Frames” box in Log & Transfer preferences. This seems to fix the sync problem but creates clips at 29.97 as a result. I’d like to continue working in 23.98 because that is what I ultimately output to. Why does this problem occur?

  Like others, I’ve also noticed that the lack of sync isn’t consistent and therefore can’t be fixed by speeding the audio up or moving the audio track over a frame or two.
