Importing P2 footage in 720p24, looks beautiful in viewer, but when transferring to Canvas, it looks like DV footage. I have been playing around with Sequence settings- changing frame size to HD 960 x 720, etc. this doesn’t do anything. Should it be uncompressed??

    Help!

    Thanks,
    Arthur

No, choose the DVCPro HD 720p24 easy setup, MAKE A NEW SEQUENCE and then put your clips in. ALso, what are you watching? Your computer monitor? You need to get yourself a proper HD monitor to properly see the full resolution. FCP is knocking down the resolution so it’ll fit in the canvas window for preview purposes only. If you have a capture card and an HD monitor, you could see it in it’s full rez glory.

Yes I have the HD cinema monitor from Apple.

I followed instructions and it seems to work fine now. I also Sequence>settings and loaded sequence preset 720p24.

I guess the key is to open a new sequence AFTER the easy setup has been established??

    Thanks!

    That is the key…
