    I am using:

FCPX v.10.0.7 & purchased a Panasonic HPX 255 camera recently.
Loaded P2 video files using a P2 reader (by Panasonic) on a Buffalo 1 TB External Hard Drive. It has Thunderbolt.

FCPX does not read the P2 files that have loaded on the external hard drive.
The files could be read directly from the camera when I first started using the program.

What am I doing that I should be doing?

    I REALLY APPRECIATE SOME HELP!

    Thanks / Don B.

You copied the entire P2 card structure to the drive?

Yes, as far as I know everything was copied using the Panasonic P2 card reader to the Buffalo 1TB external hard drive. Then connected by Thunderbolt to the MacBook Pro laptop. Started up FCPX.
Clicked on the import button. Then, clicked on the drive and FCPX would not even read what I had on the drive. Would Shot Put Pro help me out on this?

    Thanks/ Don

Please make a few screen grabs of your directory (folder) structure on the Thunderbolt drive

I am trying to add a Screen Grab to the list then to a particular reply. I think I failed at both sorry everybody. Not sure how to add a screen grab to the forum.

There’s a little camera icon above the reply box.

    Click it.

    A window opens.

    Click ‘upload image’.

After it uploads, there’ll be two link options.

Copy and paste either or both and paste in to your response.

Jeremy / I tried and tried. I don’t know how to add screen shots or grabs to this forum. There are 4 of them
I would need to include and I just can’t figure it out. I got a message from a moderator and I still can’t seem to do this. I have lists from 4 files…..audio, video,, clip and icon.

Do you have any suggestions ? May I send these screen shots to you on your own email so you may be able to look at them?

    Thanks! / Don Bronn
