P2 – EDL Question in FCP
Hi,
we are on a project where will be finishing in FCP. The offline editor will unfortunately only work in an avid, so I need to do an EDL or XML or ??? I guess my question is what is the most direct route to getting footage from an AVid project into a FCP project when working on the P2 system.
I did a simple test today where I output an EDL from FCP, then tried to bring it in. The EDL comes in, and looks normal. What I don’t see is how to batch capture the footage from the P2 files. Is this not possble? or am I overlooking the obvious.

Automatic Duck make software to convert an AVID aaf export to FCP sequence. I have used it with great success on HDV projects which were reloaded from tape. I don’t know if relinking P2 files is a problem and also it might be possible to transfer media from the AVID, but someone with P2 experience will need to clarify.
