P2 Duel Adapter Transfer times?
Hello everyone,
We are looking at a HPX for my company and are trying to figure out the workflow. We looked at the Duel Adapter for unloading media in the field. We would be buying a Macbook pro specifically for it. I have two big questions. First, how reliable is this setup, Ive seen a good amount of posts of people having crashing issues with it. Also how are the transfer times? To unload a 16GB card of 1080 footage, how long are we talking? -

We use a MBP and Duel to offload media in the field. We’ve been using P2 Genie, but have just purchased Imagine Products P2 Shotput. Typically, a 16GB card takes 8 minutes to offload. We use a G-Safe mirrored RAID plus another drive and offload files to both simultaneously. Either P2 Genie or Shotput allow you to set up naming conventions so you have Project Name_001, 002, etc. stored to the drives for each P2 card.

I will second Shotput P2. 8 minute transfer time for 16gb card. That is simultaneously to Caldigit RAID 1 HD and another HD. You can select up to 3 drives for simultaneous transfer.
