    Hi,

I am creating a Standard DVD for a client. The HD footage was shot in 720P on a P2 Card. The Native Sequence settings are 960 x 720.

These settings makes the footage letter box on a regular DVD. My work flow was

FCP edits – Sent to compressor – DVD: Best Quality 90 minutes – DVD Studio Pro.

The result as said before was letter boxed.

I went back and tried to change the sequence settings to 720 x 480 and in final cut pro the footage was letter boxed, when I clicked the anamorphic button, the footage looked letter box and stretched.

In summary, my question is what settings do I use for P2 Card Footage (960 x 720) to be of good quality and not letter-boxed on a Standard DVD?

So you don’t want it to be 16:9? You want it to be 4:3 full frame?

I Can only see two options
    – crop the picture so it fits in 4:3
    Or
    – stretch it..but it won’t be good looking

But the best solution would be to just make a 16:9 DVD

    Yours Sincerely
