  • P2 card captures to wrong drive

Posted by Mark Spencer on July 30, 2008 at 4:32 am

I’m shooting with an HVX200 to P2 cards and then using a MBP on 10.5.4 and a Duel Systems adapter in the Express card slot to capture to FCP v6 with latest updates.

Even though I specify a firewire drive as my capture disk (Shift-Q), when I use Log & Transfer, the clips are captured to the root of my boot disk.

Anyone else experience this? Any fixes?

    Hello,

Check what your system settings are for the project. This is under the Final Cut Pro tab.

Make sure the capture scratch is set to the correct drive and folder you wish the footage to go to. I also check that the render folder, etc are also set up to the particular project I am working on.

I work on several projects at the same time I have to this every time I log and transfer.

The system remembers the last location you logged footage. I have found that this happens even when you open an old project.

    Good Luck,

    Mike

Thanks, Mike. I had changed the target disk under system settings as I had mentioned, so not sure what the issue was, but I’ll try once more on the next shoot.

    Sorry,

I did not realize Shift Q would take you there. I am not hip to all of the keyboard short cuts.

    Good Luck,
