P2 72024pn footage render bar appears
I know this is an old dumb question, but I ingested 720 24pn P2 footage through the 5.1.2 import interface, get my clips to play in the viewer, but when placed on the timeline I get a render bar.
I know my setting must be off. I have tried a series of different settings with no success.
Any help much appreciated. -

go to AV settings choose the 720p24 easy setup
THEN create new Sequence- your footage should play fine if your machine is capable of playing HD content,
Changing the Easy Setup settings after FCP launches does not change the Seq. settings, you have to create a new seq for the settings to stick.

I’ve also seen the orange/unlimited bar appearing in perfectly capable systems (like MacBook Pros), and with the right settings, when the scopes are set to high-quality or RT update. Turning that off makes the orange bar go away and RT effects power is sudenly twice as much. Only turn on the hig-quality/RT scopes when it’s really needed.
