December 26, 2008 at 11:56 amWhen I am in 720 PN I cannot use the DS gain. Maybe it has something to do with the Cine/videomode reffered to in this thread. Where do i switch between the two modes?
-think i found it in paint/gamma but maybe its because i have a 2100 – that i cannot find any video mode -

January 2, 2009 at 5:01 pmI know it will seem nit-picky to you, but there is no such thing as 720 NTSC or PAL. NTSC refers to standard definition only, so using it to describe whether you’re shooting for a 60 Hz electrical system (North America) or 50 Hz (Europe) can be confusing.

Absolutely correct. I find it’s easier to refer to the NTSC/PAL based frame rates of 60 or 50 Hz. I guess it’s just ingrained in me.

I do not believe the 2100 has video or cinema mode. The 2000 doesn’t, so I imagine the 2100 doesn’t as well.

January 10, 2009 at 7:00 amOk – no such switch on the 2100 – maybe the 2100 just will not do DS gain in 720P – I just thougt I used it before in a HD project.

January 12, 2009 at 2:39 amwhy would one choose to shoot in the 24P mode if you get longer record times AND superior quality shooting 24PN?

January 12, 2009 at 2:50 amDepending on your workflow, not all systems will mix 24PN with other formats. If you have an AVID you cannot use 24PN with 60i content without converting it first. FCP will handle both on the same timeline but you have to render at a certain point.

January 15, 2009 at 12:08 amNo 1080p60 dual link or 3gb SDI workflows are reserved for very very high end cameras.
