I have an external OWC Elite firewire drive that I attempted to update the Oxford 911 chipset on. It was version 3.3 and I have the 4.0 updater. The process began, and about two seconds in, it crashed. Now I cannot even use the enclosure. It gets to a point where it is recognized on the desktop, and then, just stops. I have tried Drive Genious and Disk repair to no avail. It never fully mounts. I know the drive is fine as I put it in another case and it works perfectly; so that leaves the chipset. It obviously got “zapped” in some manner when I attempted to update it. Is there any way to get this working again? The updater does not even recognize that there is a drive there any more. If not, is there any place to purchase the chipset alone as the warranty on this enclosure expired a couple of years ago. It’s easy to exchange but the sales team only offered me the option of purchasing a new enclosure.

    Thanks.
