This has probably been covered here somewhere, but I’m not quite sure how to search for it. I know if you want to have two versions of the same person in a shot you can do it pretty easily with simple masking as long as the two versions of the person do not overlap – go in front or behind the other.

What is the best technique for a shot WITH overlap (without using chromakeying)? I used to know a technique for creating a moving mask of a figure that involved duplicating the track and using track blending modes, but I’ve forgotten how to do it. I’m hoping there might be an easier way.

    Thanks!
