  • Over the Phone Audio Effect in FCP or Soundtrack Pro

    Hello,

I’m editing a video where there is a conversation between two people and a lot of spots where an “over the phone” sound effect would be ideal. For example, the video shows a salesman on the phone but you can hear the person he’s having a conversation with over the phone.

Besides playing with the EQ on the audio, is there a filter in either FCP or Soundtrack Pro (I’ve got the latest version of Final Cut Studio) that can be quickly applied? Do you have a setting tip?

I couldn’t find a filter if there is in fact one already there, although I am new to FCS and I’m probably looking right at it!

    Thanks in advance,
    -Pat

Youre on the right track with the eq. drop the low end down. Check out kenstone.com. I think there is an article on using audio plugh in and a tutorial on making a phone voice. There is no instant phone voice plug in in FCP.

I use the high pass filter, easy as pie.

    Have a wonderful day.

Thanks guys – I’ll check out both options and see what works best with the visuals.
