Hey guys, I’m having render issues with either After effects or importing issues with FCP.

Basically I’m rendering out with the XDCAM HD1080p30 (35 Mb/s VBR) codec, and when my editor imports it, the 1920 is turning up as 1440 in FCP (says the dimension is 1440, and appears to not fit the frame) despite the fact that when we “get info” the file when it’s on the desktop, it clearly states 1920×1080.

Seems like Final Cut is being the problem, this happened to another editor’s final cut as well.

What’s going on? Why is 1920 turning into 1440 in Final Cut? FCP is saying the clip is 1440 when it’s not.

Well this is an ex-3 camera and it was shot with 1920. FCP is clearly interpreting the footage as 1440 despite it was exported on After Effects default settings for XDCAM 1920×1080, where the file once exported is 1920×1080, where once it’s on their computer, they can check the info by going into “get Info” on their computer and clearly see that it is still 1920×1080 up until it goes into final cut, and the clip info in final cut says 1440×1080.

it’s just very odd. Everything is done by protocol yet final cut see it as 1440×1080.
