Output to DV
Hey,
Trying to output from sequence to DV deck. However,no picture is showing in the deck in the playback. Tried restarting and refreshing A/V devices, but still doesn’t show up. what other problems could be causing this?

Hit control-q and chose your easy setup as DV NTSC or DV PAL.
If this doesn’t work and you have recently upgraded a system from an older OS, try this:

Do you an Easy Setup selected to match your DV settings? Either DV-NTSC or DV-PAL depending on where you are?
External Video set to All Frames?
DV Deck set to Firewire input?

I have noticed in very unusual and extremely far between circumstances, sometimes you just have to restart FCP and the deck, and go in fresh. (Only happened once before….)
However, do make sure all your settings are correct, or this will not help.Tim

I’ve had the same issue as Tim at times, it is hard to ID why though. Sometimes, I’m not sure if I’ve done it before or after I’ve tried resarting (start deck first BTW) I do a “Print to Video” – even though I don’t really do the print, I just click OK in the dialog box, then cancel when the video screen appears, and FCP becomes aware of the deck. Sound’s like voodoo, I know….
