Is there any rhyme or reason to exporting a sequence in native pro res 422 format to 422 HQ? My understanding is it would simply make the file bigger and thus harder to playback but wouldn’t improve quality…am I wrong?

[Harrison Gruber] “Is there any rhyme or reason to exporting a sequence in native pro res 422 format to 422 HQ?”

Nope. Only if the client wants ProRes HQ. There is zero benefit to doing this.

You are not wrong. Only thing gained is file size.

    sometimes the client doesn’t care,
they just like seeing that HQ on the end of the file name.
