I’ve hit a few hiccups on my project. I was wondering if outputting video on the timeline via firewire to Mini-DV, (in order to change capture settings and start fresh) and then recapture the same way, would hurt the quality? The original footage is VHS. And from this point on, would it be good, better or worse to convert the VHS footage to Mini-DV and then capture using firewire and timecode?

In your opinion is it better to dub VHS to Mini-DV and then capture using firewire? Or just capture the vhs?

If I have no choice, would converting timeline footage via firewire to Mini-DV and then recapture via firewire show a loss of quality?
