  • Output Audio Split Track to 4 tracks of Digibeta, Would be direct out on Avid

I am running FCP 5.1 with a Kona LH breakout box. Trying to output 4 tracks of audio from the time line to the corresponding tracks of the Beta deck. Currently I can’t get 4 tracks of audio to the beta, I’m trying to go embedded over the SDI cable, but I’m only getting two. And they are merging together(going stereo) on the output.

I have to deliver the program today, and I didn’t forsee this being a seeming impossibility.

The Kona LH cannot output more than two tracks of balances audio. It can do 4 tracks via SDI, but…what beta deck accepts SDI? I know digibeta decks do.

AH…you need to tell the audio where to go.

So you have your timeline…with it active, press APPLE-0 (zero). Click on the AUDIO OPTIONS tab…far right. There you can set the number of outputs to 4, and map what goes where.

Also: In Video-Settings/ Device Control > Set Audio channels to 4
The Kona defaults to 2 AFAIK
Uncheck downmix in the audio mixer window
