  Out of sync issue with XDCAM and PDW-U1

  From FCP (studio 2) on a Leopard machine we export about 28 minutes (HD sequence) to an XDCam disc in a PDW-U1 deck. We have been doing this without issue since Sony released the update to allow this workflow. We have been checking the resulting proxy file with XDCam Transfer to make sure everything is there and in sync. Works well, never a problem. BUT…

  Twice now we have had A/V sync issues when we playback the XDCam in a HD1500 XDCAM deck. About 90 seconds in, the audio and video jump about 4 seconds out of sync. If I import the file back into FCP the out of sync issue is there.

  So two questions:
  -Why do you suppose that sometimes I lose sync?
  -Why isn’t it reflected in the proxy file?

  Also, we don’t own the 1500 deck, it is located 45 minutes away at our broadcast facility. So we can’t use it for export from the mac.
