    ok why is my duel Quad 24 gig ram saying OUT OF MEMORY for the first time in a while im working on a 3 min movie whats the deal i have tried IT ALL…… DES and can i upgrade to cs5 from 6

    it’s quite possible (even probable) that cs5 would fix this issue. being 64-bit, one instance of ae could address all 24gb of ram, but that doesn’t help you much right now…

    it would be helpful to know you multiprocessing and memory settings.

    with 8 cores and 24gb, i’d try something like enabling multiprocessing, leaving 2gb for other processes, 4 cores for other processes and leave the faster render-longer previews slider in the middle.

    if that still causes problems, disable multiprocessing and leave 4gb for other processes.

    also, only have ae running during rendering (you could have task manager or activity monitor running to see how things are processing).

    i had the same problem with a AE projet from pc 64 bit CS4 rendered on a mac 10.5 CS4 (32BIT) with 28 GIGA RAM
    Try cmd+alt+shift when you lauch AE
    i will reset the pref
    DID WORK FROM ME BUT WAS LONG
    5 sec in 10hours
