Our PRV-LX1 DVD Recorder died, what are other options
Hello,
We produce mostly 6-10 minute industrial videos some with tight deadlines. Up until yesterday
our workflow for DVD production included FCP to DVCPRO tape (which gave us a tape master before releasing DVDs) and then to the Pioneer PRV-LX1 DVD Recorder HD. This gave us good quality
DVDs with nearly real time speed. This was helpful when trying to make Fed Ex or for clients who want to leave with DVDs after an edit session.Last night we made a DVD using DVD studio pro, it was only 2 minutes program but took a while to render. The DVD looked fine but I’m a little concerned about the render time when working with a longer programs.
I’m wondering what you guys are using for you DVD production after cutting on FCP. Mostly DVD Studio
Pro? As anyone had success with another deck other then the PRV-LX? This deck wasn’t cheap about 5K, but we have used for the last 6 years without any problems always making flawless DVDs.We contacted Pioneer and they told us they don’t make the PRV-LX1 DVD any longer and that it takes up to 4 weeks to repair the unit in CA.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time,
