I cannot get my external monitor and my FCP to run simultaneously. When I have my “View/External Video” setting to “Off”, the FCP runs the video, but the external shuts off. Conversely, when I change it to “All Frames” the video freezes in FCP but runs on the external monitor. Any help?

Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything’s connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you’re using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QuickTime you are using.

Look a couple posts down Tom…he trashed his entire USER LIBRARY folder, and the preferences folder from the main system library. That might be the issue.

Connection: 800 FireWireFCP Settings: (This is the Audio/Video Setting)
Sequence Preset: DV NTSC 48khz
Capture Preset: DV NTC 48khz
Device Capture: AJA Kona LH: 29.97 VTR B
Video Playback: Apple FireWire NTSC (720×480)
Audio Playback: FireWire DVDid I give the right info?
