September 11, 2005 at 4:14 amActually thank you Kathlyn and Ron for giving myself and Walter something to do during all our renders and lonely late night and early morning edit sessions.
If it was not for the Cow I would have to buy a 2 million minute monthly cellular phone plan so I could talk to all the people out there on the Cow.
Keep all the good grazing up.

September 11, 2005 at 6:42 pmWow, Walter.
That’s kinda harsh. Granted not everyone at Apple has your level of expertise, there’s still a lot of great information being presented. Everyone has to learn sometime and yes it does get tiring seeing the same questions come up again and again but then I don’t look at those if I don’t want to. I saw you over there not long ago and was pretty thrilled knowing that a lot of users, myself included, could gain from your knowledge and help.
Personally, I read the cow but I rarely post as I find the format to be extremely cumbersome, I find the Apple discussions to be really user friendly.

My point is that the Apple Forum is a great place for beginners and we all know that our very own Jerry Hofmann has given a tremendous amount of his knowledge to that forum. I have no idea how he finds the time, but he’s an invaluable resource both there and on the Cow.
If you’re looking for more professional advice on not only how to use FCP but also general editing / compositing work, you’re more likely to find it here. If you’re looking for more basic “how does the software work?” type of advice, you’ll find lots of it on the Apple forum.
both forums serve their purpose, I just find the Cow has more ‘real world’ professional information that’s especially useful for people who are pursuing a career in this field.
