  • OT: recommend a good DVD printer in the US?

Am hoping someone point me in the right direction – didn’t know which other forum to try.

Have a DVD series that has just finished post here in the UK, and we want to find a reliable, professional printer in the US for sales over there, who

    a) is not in Tennessee (GST tax we want to avoid)

    b) will also hold stock once printed / pressed

    c) can do each DVD complete with case, printing / artwork etc, for well under a pound.

What we’re finding is that it seems to be cheaper to get the printing done here in the UK, which I find hard to believe.

Location is not really important. Initial marketing will be done in / around Nashville, but DVD is going to be released all over the States once it takes off, and in Canada.

The printer we found originally seemed to offer a good service & price, but now has suddenly started to add in loads of additional expenses to the quote, which would make it unprofitable. 🙁

Any feedback much appreciated – thanks

Sorry I don’t know how much a pound equates to in USD (I know it’s 16oz in weight?!?!?!) BUT as for your question try Tim at http://www.ChicagoDigitalpost.com or call him at 877-469-8433. He’s located just outside of Chicago and does great work and is very easy to work with. Tell him Don B. sent you. (that won’t get you OR me anything but at least he’ll know who recommended him ;-0)

I use CustomFlix. They do full color on DVD’s and you can open your own store (Page). They also do duplication or replication depending on your quantity. Custom Flix is designed for us inde film makers.

    https://www.customflix.com/Index.jsp

I have 2 ‘shops’ there for my 3 DVD’s. They take care of duplicating, packaging and shipping to my customers. Fees are on a sliding scale depending on how many you sell each month.

There’s also diskmakers, but they don’t do full color on the DVD’s. Only 3 color printing. Do a search for Disk Makers.
