    OT – Problems with Audio-out of my MBP

    Hi there,

    I wonder if any of you have any ideas about this…

    I’m running a Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

    I’ve got my speakers plugged into the mini-jack port.
    Lately, it seems as if the stereo output isn’t working properly – in fact, it sounds as if the audio coming out of my MBP is phasing – and in some cases, I’m losing the mids.

    I know this sounds weird.

    Any of you have any ideas or experience with this?

    my wife had a similar problem on an old G4 Powerbook…we found a cure searching the forums at apple, and if my memory is working, it was simply a case of dragging the file com.apple.soundpref.plist out from the root/library/preferences and dropping in the trash (dont empty until your sure this works)

    then restarting the laptop.The file should get rebuilt and if alls well sound might return. It certainly cured all the audio weirdness on our laptop…good luck

    I tried your suggestion – but my problem still persists.

    I’m beginning to wonder if this is hardware related.

    another thought – have you checked the output with different speakers (and different cable)? Its possible the fault is not your mac, but the speakers.

    Yeah, this happens with any speakers/headphones I attach to the jack,
