OT – Need some quick help!
Im mostly an editor but find myself shooting more and more lately. Have a client who’s in San Fran and I’m on the beach in NC. They just want me to shoot a shot list and send them an HDV tape. Fine, I’ll use my Sony V1U. They then want me to make a dub, from cam to cam, onsite and before I leave, and give the original and the copy to their local person who will be onsite.
No problem, I’ve got another Sony HDV cam. Problem? I know this is crazy, but I’ve never had to do this before. How would one go about doing that? I’m guessing I need to find a FireWire cable that has two of the smaller ends on it?
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Right, you need a Mini/Mini FW cable.
Put the original tape to play in camera A (Player).
The picture should show up in Camera B (Recorder) screen.
Then just hit REC-PLAY in Camera B.
