I know we are all waiting for what options FCS2 delivers but if you are doing more and more intricate 2D or 3D graphics work, its worth having a look at radtime when you have a moment

they released the public beta at NAB which is a re-coded/ re-built version of the windows product they have had for a few years so that it is now cross-platform.

its a really impressive tool that seems to get rid of the whole idea that you need 4
applications to do compositing and 3D work. imagine maya and shake and the layering of
After effects, all in real time. the full release is due at siggraph

There’s barely any information on the website and what is there is not very informative. Not very impressed by what I see up there and of course Motion adds very nice 3D tools which will more than satisfy my needs along with After Effects.

This really doesn’t look like much of a tool for an editor, more for a 3D artist or Motion Graphics artist.

sure walter. i agree the site is pretty lean. i was just putting up the post so people who may be editors now, may expand their 2D or 3D capabilities in future. who knows which way workflows will go next?
