  • OT: French for “play” or “play video” on DVD menu

    Does anyone know the French translation for “play” or “play video” in the context of a DVD menu?

    I don’t think it would be “jouez”. 🙂

    Thanks,
    Steve

    If it’s a film then

    Columbia/Tristar use “Envoi du film”
    Warner and others (including the french distributors) just use “le film” of “film”
    alternatively, “lecture” is better rendition of play than “joue”.

    Hey,

    play = lecture
    rewind = rebobiner
    ffwd = avancer
    stop = arreter
    pause = pause

    Take care,

    Nick
