I’ve been reading info that says that DVD+R is actually better than DVD-R. More stable and seems to last longer and plays better. Any truth to this?

[Doug Lewis] “I’ve been reading info that says that DVD+R is actually better than DVD-R. More stable and seems to last longer and plays better. Any truth to this?”

Is that with or without setting the booktype to DVD-ROM (on the DVD+R disc)?

Short answer is yes, DVD+R is a technically superior format to DVD-R. The downside is that some older players are less compatible with DVD+R disks than with DVD-R disks. The number of players affected should be relatively small.
