OT: Do you plan to add Fusion as part of workflow?
Now that Fusion is getting closer to a Mac OS X release, a few simple questions. Will you use it in your workflow? What for? As an example, something like processing or enhancing stills. Granted, not everyone is a compsitor or into heavy motion graphics. Would anyone in tnat category use Fusion as well? What about those who rely on AE and want out of the rental only game? Love to hear your thoughts, opinions, and comments. Post away!

This may become a good added tool for building digital set extensions, for people that already have Motion.

Used it back then when Eyeon owned it then it was added to my Maya package.
Im too deep into AE to even bother.
I will try it though just for nostalgic reasons 🙂

I think it’s a great tool if you’re doing major VFX work and certainly at the entry level price of free, there’s no reason not to at least give it a try.

I have used it when it was Eyeon with the Media Composer connector and it has been great. It is deep and the learning curve will be high depending on what you need to get done.But great quality and control.

I just finished a 10 week course on Fusion via FXPHD (which I highly recommend), partly as a refresher, partly to get a new perspective on the software. I think I’ll probably use it for certain kinds of VFX tasks – composites with a lot of components, which might require a lot of experimentation. I also think I’ll be on Ae for a long time to come – for complex animation and quick, relatively simple composites. As much as I like Resolve and Fusion, I just can’t use them as hub applications (for the time being), so Pr and Ae it is until I find something that better suits my budgetary and creative needs.

Im with Shawn that its a great compositor but AE can do so much more in terms of Motion Graphics.
Their 3D workflow works great for me in regards to Maya and Max.
That to me priceless and its free 😉
