Os X 10.4.8 crashes on Intel systems when we access it through the LAN. Is that a known problem?

We have 3x G4’s, 4x G5 systems, and a mac Mini and Mac Pro, both on Intel CPU’s. We have been networking the older systems for many years.

The Intel boxes can mount drives from the G4 and G5 systems without hasstle, but when any system mounts a volume from any Intel system, The intel system freezes. Sometimes immediately, sometimes after the volume’s been ejected.

We’re talking a solid freeze. Mouse freezes. Everything freezes. No option to gracefully shut down. No chinese language screen saying you have to restart now. Both the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro do the same freeze. None of the G4 and G5 systems do it.

Is this a known issue? It’e been happening from X.4.6 and x.4.7, and I kept upgrading to try to solve this issue. Our older systems are all still on X.4.7.

    Thanks
    Francois
